2. The nth term of a sequence Tn = (2n + 1)².

Find the difference between the 99th and the 98th term.

Answer:

(2(99) + 1)² = 39601

(2(98) + 1)² = 38809

39601 - 38809 = 792

3. The sum of 3 consecutive even numbers are 222. Find the numbers.

Answer: 

We have the clue: Let x be the 1st number.

x + (x + 2) + (x + 4)

3x + 6 = 222

3x = 222 - 6

3x = 216

x = 216 / 3

x = 72

72 + 2 = 74

74 + 2 = 76

72 + 74 + 76 = 222.

So the answer is 72, 74 and 76.
